Single Petal of a Rose is a gorgeous song composed by Duke Ellington. It is one of several songs written for England's Queen Elizabeth II and included in The Queen's Suite. Recorded in 1959, the suite was pressed only once and presented to the Queen. It became commercially available in 1976, after Ellington had died.
